Breakfast in Florence (yes, there is such a thing)
One of the challenges of staying overnight in Florence’s Old Town is: no breakfast.
Mo’s isn’t open. What places there are, aren’t too inspiring.
FInally we found a great one one. Just a short walk up the hill from Old Town, on Highway 101, is Nature’s Corner Cafe & Market, where the food is decent even if it is organic, the service is friendly, and they serve full breakfast, lunch and dinner despite the coffee-only sound of the name.
Walk up Second Street, on your right just past the bridge, and it’s right there; you don’t even have to cross the highway.
185 Highway 101; 541-997-0900.

I’ve had the same no-breakfast problem in Florence many times. I’ve solved it by going to the Harbor Light in Reedsport. You know, the place that says “NON-SMOKING” in giant letters on the side of the building. It’s right at the intersection of 101 and the Umpqua Highway. In addition to the standard breakfast stuff, they also have a bunch of different quiches. Last time I was there they had a crazy spinach/bleu cheese/water chestnut quiche on the menu that would have looked at home on Hawthorne Blvd. in Portland. Of course, I went with bacon.
