Send Owen a card!
This just in
today:
"My name
is Anthony T. Olvera, I live at 2000 Paxton Church Rd. Harrisburg, PA
17111.
"My son
Owen is doing a school project which requires him to get as many postcards
as possible, one from every state ( we do not know people in every state)
I was hoping you could help out by sending him one. It would be greatly
appreciated .I am not sure of the time frame for this project, but all
I know is they have at least until the 1st week of June. He is a 6th
grader at Susquehanna Township Middle School.

"Thank you for your time and kindness,

Email from another
reader: "Oregon sounds good to me - though I do have a feeling
you are trying to make it sound so boring in order to keep tourists
away, and keep it all to yourself!"
She nailed us.

Email this week
from readers:
"I stumbled
across your website through a link from Wikipedia if I'm not mistaken.
I really enjoyed it. As a ex-native, it's fun to see what others ...enjoy
of my home state, especially as I do try to visit and vacation there.
Not having spent much time on the eastern side of the Cascades, that
information will probably come in most useful.
"You nailed Eugene, I grew up there during junior high and although
it was great for that, it isn't the most architecturally stimulating
place."

"If you
are in Astoria go to the Columbian Cafe. Great local seafood, creative
combinations, and the chef, Uriah, is a cool cat. At night go next door
to the Voodoo Room for cocktails and conversation. So weird, so wild,
so real."

2006:
We're getting
a lot of visits already. People seem to be most interested in learning
about seeing plays at the Oregon Shakespeare
Festival in Ashland and about visiting the Oregon Coast,
so we'll be adding material on both those topics soon.

Officially launched
the website today, alerting Google and the search engine universe and
putting the whole thing out there for all the electronic world to see.
