The Real Oregon

Yes, it rains here. All the time. You’d have to be crazy to vacation in a wet and dreary place like this.

So this website is for crazy people, or at least for those crazy enough to love Oregon in all its quirks and damp oddities.

This site isn’t for everyone. We don’t have much to offer people who want to know where the factory stores are, or how to book a room at a golf resort that looks a lot like every other golf resort in the country. You’ll find plenty of other sites out there for that

But if your idea of a great vacation is walking around a small coastal town in the rain or watching birds arrive on a spring morning at a high desert marsh in the middle of nowhere, this is the website for you. The Real Oregon is about good bookstores and odd motels, cheap food and watching live Shakespeare under the stars at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland.
